I have already seen this via iTunes and all I can say is 'Brilliant'. It stays close to the books upon which it is based (which are well worth reading if you are fan of the Fantasy genre).
The casting is good (although some of the children's characters are older than they are in the books) and the production and costuming is excellent - HBO must have spent a fortune bringing this to the screen.
Can't wait for the next season!
